I have been experimenting with subsurface scattering and specular settings for character textures and think they are looking nice, my only worry is that the addition of SSS will up the render times by a considerable amount.

Major Project: Test Renders
I think I have got the settings for textures and lights looking right and will maintain the same lighting and texture settings throughout most of the scenes. The first 2 images were previous renders before I settled on settings used for the last 2 images. The render times are currently taking about 3.5 - 4.5 minutes without characters in the scene.

The terrains have been completed for 3 sets. I still have a few things to do with adding in details and textures and some alterations to the lighting.

Major Project: Environment Details
I found when compiling scenes things were starting to get complicated from too many different texture nodes so I went and created a master group for all environment details and tried to get the textures down to as few files as possible.

Major Project: New Characters Modelled
I still need to work on the texture for the pimp character, and I'm thinking of using normal maps on the ugly one to create some wrinkles and such to be used in some close up shots.

Major Project: Character Rig Complete
I have now finished the rig, I still need to go back and clean up a few things and finish off any last little things to make it ready to import into a scene. I will upload a full rig demo when I get the chance to make one.
